My Citroen C4 Grand Picasso failed its MOT on "handbrake hold". Investigation by the dealer showed a complete failure of cables and motor costing ÂŁ1000 to replace and repair. I noted two recalls in the past for electronic handbrake hold issues but my car is not on the list. Its a Jan 2008 model with 80,000 miles.
My C4 Grand Picasso 1.6 started to have this squeak / rattle after 12 months / 20000 miles. As above post it went in for the rubber mountings to be replaced but that made no difference. It's been back in for the dealer to look at other possible causes, the rear axle was mentioned as the possible cause.- In the middle of September (after 1530 km running) the problem occured again, with a new fault code: "P0271 Cylinder 4 injector Circuit High". Again, after some deletes, the car started. Hello, new to the site (and world of elderly Citroen ownership) This might be a bit of a story but bear with me, if you don't care for the back story, jump to below the line. I bought a C4 Grand Picasso from 2008 with ~300.000km on it, not a new racer, but need 7 seats for my family and since money doesn't grow on trees this was our option.
My wife’s Citroen C4 Grand Picasso (horrible thing) has a few electrical gremlins. Messages on the display: “Electrical Fault” (what exactly?) “The hand brake is faulty” (it wouldn’t surprise me, but it seems to be working normally). The key fobs don’t work. There’s a high pitched squealing noise, like a dog whistle, drives you mad.
