I have both the F-mount 24-70mm/f2.8 E AF-S VR and the Z 24-70/2.8 S. The Z version is clearly better and is a bit smaller. Another difference is that the F-mount lens has extra VR elements that degrade the image quality a little. The Z lens completely depends on IBIS (if the body has it) for stabilization.
